1 & 1 And Then There Was One

LAST WEEK

First of all it seems like last week was a month ago. And the season sometimes losses its momentum when they have the extra week before the Super Bowl. Of course, it gives them more time to sell things and that is what it is all about, right? Well, I correctly picked the Niners to win and cover which they barely did. And my over all observation that the Falcons were not quite as good as they appeared was also right on. But unfortunately there were 2 games, and the other one I missed as did most people. Didn’t think the Pats could be handled at home like that. But obviously the Ravens are just better than we all thought. In fact Baltimore seems to be the Team of Destiny so obviously in the Super Bowl I am going to pick:

THIS WEEK

San Francisco -3.5 over Baltimore

Maybe I am just a glutton for punishment. I keep wanting to pick the best team and the Niners clearly are. Their D is the league’s best and their O is scary with the young mobile QB.
In fact almost every member of the defensive unit made the Pro Bowl. Fortunately they didn’t actually have to play defense in the Pro Bowl. No one does. So the case for SF is they are the more complete team. But the Ravens also just beat Denver and New England. We all figured that these teams were also better than Baltimore. Not only did they beat these teams, but they beat them in their own home field. So I must be crazy to pick against them right? Clearly I am, but the fact that I have issues is another issue. Maybe this time the best team will actually win. Even though Ray Lewis has told us that God is clearly looks favorably on Baltimore. The Ravens I mean. I don’t think He would be that fond of the town of Baltimore. The Niners have the better town and the better team I am betting…..though not literally.
But I think we got a chance for a good close game which might even live up to the Commercials.

And so I bid you a fond ado as well as a fondu until next season. I am going back into hibernation. (But will come out for the draft) And return in August. In the meantime, enjoy the Super Bowl, and Merry Nachos and to all a good night.
